About the Founders:
The STEAMplant was formed in 2015 to meet the needs of both teachers and students. Michael and Ray have brought together a collection of Ontario certified teachers, crafters, and creators striving to empower students to take control of technology and become the creators. The team’s background in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM), and years of experience working with kids between the ages 3 - 14 have influenced their desire for change in the way is education seen. The STEAMplant provides teachers, facilitators, and program managers/leaders the chance to develop curriculum and programs that will give students the opportunity to build, hack, make and tinker in a safe and friendly place will increase their confidence, expand their knowledge and give them the right tools for the future. The STEAMplant offers professional development that meets the needs of educators to design their space as well as cover STEAM topics from cardboard construction to robotics systems.
